Chinese army to be restructured to make it a ‘world-class military’ says President Xi


Centred around a new, precipitated structure of 84 troops units, a reshuffle builds on Xi’s years-long efforts to modernize a PLA with larger importance on new capabilities including cyberspace, electronic and information warfare. 

As chair of a Central Military Commission, Xi is also commander-in-chief of ‘s armed forces. 

“This has surpassing and poignant definition in building a world-class military,” President Xi told commanders of a new units during a PLA domicile in Beijing, according to a central Xinhua news group news late on Tuesday.
