EXCLUSIVE: Merkel fan says Brexit is ‘lose-lose’ – though warns EU contingency NOT retaliate Britain


Stephan Mayer, a Christian Democrat Union’s home affairs spokesman, insisted Britain’s preference to leave a confederation was a “lose-lose” situations for both parties.

The German pronounced it was in a “common interest” of Brussels and UK for one side not to emerge winning from a negotiations.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Mayer said: “I am deeply assured Germany won’t advantage from a depart of a United Kingdom from a EU.

“I think, to be honest, this will be a lose-lose conditions for a UK and a rest of a European Union, generally since we have mentioned tighten ties between the dual countries for Germany.”
