Gina Miller jailed after conning clients out of £800,000 to fund lavish life
The fake mystic pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated theft in connection with the paranormal scam that ran from August 1, 2001 to September 16, 2015 at her Gina’s Psychic Studio in her hometown.
The court heard Miller convinced clients to pay her with luxury items including Rolex watches, a diamond ring, a kitchen table and chairs, a 40-inch television, nine cellphones, an Apple iPad, Louis Vuitton and Chanel handbags, two Cadillacs and a Corvette.
Prosecutors said she homed in on clients’ vulnerabilities and exploited them, by identify a problem and asking for more money to “research” it before saying they were cursed and requesting more to remove it.
One Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation agent went undercover as a prospective client to gain evidence, prosecutors said.
Recordings of her speaking to the agent were played in court.
