Reflecting on yesterday’s talks in the Belgian capital added: “The first day and the start of negotations was important and useful.
“The clock is ticking, there is not a lot of time, given the deadline established by Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.
“I know [Brexit Secretary] David Davis well, I’ve known him for a long time. We have agreed on the priorities.
“There will be no aggression, there will be no spirit of revenge. We very much hope that we’ll be able to continue with that.”
