ULTIMATE BETRAYAL! Theresa May warned over handing UK fishing waters to Brussels
Last week, French President Emmanuel Macron would pursue a Brexit deal to guarantee French fishing fleets access to Britain’s waters, claiming historical rights.
He told fishermen their interests would be taken into account during Britain’s talks with Brussels after the industry voiced concern it could be destroyed by the UK’s European divorce.
“I would like to say that in negotiations that France will have with the 27 member countries that remain in the EU, the interests of fisherman will be taken into account in a serious way,” Mr Macron said.
“As an industry that is among the most essential economic activities to our country, we must defend it.”
